Petya Mihneva
(piano, correpetitor cello class 2012)
was born in 1982 in Stara Zagora, Bulgaria. She studied at State Academy of music in Sofia with Prof. Atanas Kurtev and Prof. Krassimir Gatev and at the Hochschule der Künste Bern with Prof. Rada Petkova, where she earned 2007 the concert diploma. At the Hochschule der Künste Zurich, she completed her education in the class of Professor Eckart Heiligers and received 2009 the diploma for Piano Chamber Music.
Petya Mihneva is winner of Duttweiler Hug competition Zürich, international contest "The classical and the modern" Bulgaria, Franz Schubert competition Bulgaria and competition for piano correpetition Bulgaria. Special prizes she won in the competition of Seiler and in the competition "The music and the Earth" in Sofia.
As a concert pianist and chamber musician she appeared in several music festivals in Europe, including the Feldkirchfestival 2009, the Mostly Mozart Festival Bern and the Biennale Bern 2006.
Petya Mihneva is dedicated to Chamber music in particular. She collaborates regularly with musicians of Tonhalle Orchester Zurich (2010 debut in the small Hall of the Tonhalle Zurich). With the violinist Simone Roggen they toured in New Zealand in 2008 and 2010.
Petya Mihneva is correpetitor at the Hochschule der Künste Zurich and a member of the Norea Trio.
