Atena Carte
(piano, correpetitor violin class 2013, viola class 2017)
Born in Romania, pianist Atena Carte has a Bachelor of Music from Music Conservatory in Timisoara, Romania (working under Maria Bodo) and a Concert diploma and a Soloist diploma from Lausanne Haute Ecole de Musique in Switzerland (working under Jean-François Antonioli).
Her keen interest in chamber music lead her to study for another two years at Hochschule Zurich-Winterhur working under Ulrich Koella. She participated in master-classes studying with François-René Duchable, Jacques Saint-Yves, Melvin Margolis, Axel Bauni.
Atena Carte concertized in Romania, Serbia, Italy, Switzerland, Sweden, UK, France and Spain and performed with orchestras in Romania, Republica Moldova and Switzerland under conductors such as: Valentin Doni, Tateo Nakajima, Cristian Neagu, Jean-François Antonioli, Nicolas Chalvin and Hervé Klopfenstein.
For the past years she recorded two CD’s with the chamber ensemble Triade futuring music of Piazzolla, and a CD with Swiss violonist Rachel Kolly.
In 2002 Atena Carte receives the Paderewski Society Award for her musical activity in 2001-2002. Currently she is employed by "Hochschule für Künste" in Zürich as accompanist and teaches piano at Aigle and Lausanne Music Schools in Switzerland.
